Are you looking to pick up some extra shifts during the week? Looking for first shift? We are looking for a hardworking, energetic, compassionate and experienced Family Nurse Practitioners to work in a primary care facility. For now, this is a PRN position but as we continue to open more offices, our PRN’s can advance into full time positions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assesses the health status, illness conditions, responses to illness, and health risks through history taking, physical examination, and laboratory data;
- Diagnosing the actual or potential health problems or needs based on analysis of the data collected.
- Planning therapeutic interventions with the client or the family;
- Intervening to assist the client’s participation to the fullest extent. Intervention includes measures to promote health, manage chronic illness, or treat illness in its earliest stages to limit disability. Intervention may include but is not limited to direct nursing care, and consultation or referral to other healthcare providers; and
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of care individually or over-all through regular care review of the client health status, or participation in institutional quality improvement activities.
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacotherapy
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, managing infection and others as outlined in Scope of Practice.
- Develops and implements patient management plans records progress notes, assists in provision of continuity of care.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Family Practice or Internal Medicine preferred).
- 1 – 5 years preferred.
License/Certification:
- Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate
- Valid Kentucky and/or Indiana Advanced Practice Nursing License
- DEA Registration
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications.

The Quality Control role is to ensure the operations of the care centers function according to the policies, procedures and protocols set out by management, as well as provide the tools and education necessary for care center staff to operate effectively and efficiently.
- Candidate must have in-depth working knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a primary care clinic as well as the EMR systems and reporting features.
- Prepares client contracts, addendums and updates client contract summary for management team
- Prepares agenda and conducts new employee and quarterly training for clinical staff
- Create and update all on-boarding documents for new clients and their employees;
- Create, update and post on shared OneDrive all new patient documents, immunization forms, controls, client reference book, encounter code book, and all forms necessary for the day to day operation of the care centers
- Write and update policies and procedures, as needed
- Conduct weekly audits of medical receptionists to ensure policies and protocols are followed;
- Conduct monthly audit of sample medication system to ensure policies and protocols are followed
- Responsible for keeping track of all on-site services for clients, including flu shots and bioscreens;
- Responsible for updating EMR system each month with new hires/terminations provided by client
- Responsible for tracking additional services provided to BMH Clients outside of the monthly service fee which are billed to the client on a monthly basis
- Candidate must be extremely detail oriented, forward thinking, well organized and have an excellent working knowledge of word and excel.

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Floater
Status: PRN to Full Time
Reports to: Practice Manager
The PRN or Full Time Certified Medical Assistant’s role is to provide primary care and wellness services for BluMine clients through a network of shared-site locations. The PRN or Full Time CMA will work both independently and collaboratively to assist in Occupational Medicine treatments and other primary care and wellness scenarios within their scope of work. Responsible for requests made by Providers within the CMA scope of work. This role will be expected to fill in for the Medical Receptionist duties as needed. This position will work at all BluMine clinic locations.
The PRN or Full Time CMA should demonstrate professional development and clinical competency; knowledge of medical procedures and processes within their scope of work, and help to ensure total patient care within the clinic setting. Patient satisfaction and clear concise communication to the patient and co-workers are key to the success of this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answers or refers inquiries.
- Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the exam room; provides examination gowns and drapes; helps them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranges exam room instruments, supplies, and equipment for the Nurse Practitioner.
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviews and/or records medical history; takes vital signs; confirms purpose of visit or treatment.
- Reports to Nurse Practitioner all patient medical history updates and status, as well as reason for current visit. Charts information appropriately.
- Refills prescriptions, via e-scribe or phone, as long as patient has been seen recently in the office and is responding well to medication with normal labs. NP will give standing orders for labs and medication refills.
- Calls patient on behalf of the Nurse Practitioner when labs are normal. Consults with Nurse Practitioner for script in the case of abnormal lab results.
- Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; prepares laboratory specimens; performs basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposes of contaminated supplies; sterilizes medical instruments; administers medications on the premises; draws blood; prepares patients for x-rays; takes electrocardiograms; removes sutures; changes dressings.
- Obtains urgent authorizations for X-rays when needed.
- Educates patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions and answers patient questions.
- Completes records by recording / charting patient examination, treatment, and test results for any CMA appropriate visit.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; places orders and verifies receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; performs controls on all laboratory equipment; troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and follows manufacture instructions for repair if necessary; performs preventive equipment maintenance.
- Keeps injectable medication log updated. Scans to shared drive and sends copy to Practice Manager monthly.
- Keeps all QC logs updated. Scans to shared drive and sends copy to Practice Manager monthly.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to speak and hear – Medical Spanish a plus
- Close and distant vision
- Frequent sitting with some walking and standing
- Frequently lift / carry up to 40 lbs.
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Ability to visit with patients face to face and handle medical equipment
- Phlebotomy, urine and body fluid collection
Working Conditions:
- Clinic hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or as flexed to meet the clinic and client needs
