WHAT ARE WE DOING?
On a daily basis, in every clinic we are:
- Temperature checking employees upon arrival to work
- Temperature checking patients when they enter the clinic
- Giving the patients a mask if they don’t have one or asking them to wear one if they do
- Sanitizing the reception area where the patient has been (including pens, chairs and door handles)
- Sanitizing the exam rooms and any other office areas where the patient visited
In addition, we are using the following COVID-19 Clinical Algorithms/Procedures at all clinics:
- Patient Calls the Office to make an appointment
- Video / E-visit /Telehealth used if possible
- When Patient arrives at Office
If the patient has Severe Symptoms - any of these symptoms:
- Severe trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion
- Inability to wake or stay awake
- Bluish lips or face
They are referred to the nearest Baptist Health Emergency Department. We notify the Baptist Health Emergency Department that they are on the way with symptoms.
If the patient has Mild or Moderate Symptoms - any of these symptoms:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Fatigue
- New onset headache
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of smell or taste
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
They are referred to the nearest Baptist Health Urgent Care Center in that market where they are:
- Tested for flu/strep if warranted
- Evaluated and tested for COVID-19
- Quarantined per COVID-19 Return to Work Protocol
If the patient has:
- No Symptoms/Asymptomatic
- Known or suspected exposure to COVID+ Mild/Moderate Symptoms
Then they are still referred to the nearest Baptist Health Urgent Care Center in that market and they are:
- Evaluated and tested for COVID-19
- Quarantined per Return to Work Protocol
