Family Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
Position Overview
The Family Nurse Practitioner (APRN) role is to provide healthcare with an emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion, and disease management maintenance to the patients BluMine Health serves. The APRN will function as an educator, healthcare resource, consultant, and patient care advocate, and will provide leadership to the clinical staff. The role provides minor injury care, primary care and wellness visits, occupational medicine, and screening exams pre-hire and post-hire.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient screenings, patient history reviews, physical examinations, and preventive health measures.
- Perform phlebotomy, urine and body fluid collection, minor procedures, and wound care.
- Maintain employee health records in the EMR system, with charting completed within 48 hours of the visit.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient clinical problems and healthcare needs.
- Record physical findings and formulate treatment plans and prognoses based on patient condition.
- Review lab, X-ray, and emergency reports daily.
- Conduct outreach to patients with chronic conditions that require ongoing management within the clinic.
- Design, develop, and deliver new health promotion initiatives.
- Conduct a range of risk and health assessments (biometrics).
- Develop return-to-work strategies following serious injury or prolonged illness.
- Stay current with legal and professional changes related to public health, occupational health, and safety regulations.
- Visit client locations and assess the work environment for potential health and safety problems.
- Deliver a full range of health and safety related training programs.
- Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals as required.
- Attend flu shot and/or biometric events.
- Other duties as may be required.
Job Requirements
- Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure in the state of Indiana as an APRN.
- Current BLS certification.
- DOT certified.

Full-Time · Monday – Friday · No weekends, no holidays.

Position Overview
The Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant's role is to provide primary care and wellness services, and to work independently and collaboratively to assist the Nurse Practitioner within the CMA scope of work.
Job Responsibilities
- Welcome patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answer or refer inquiries.
- Prepare patients for the healthcare visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the exam room; provide examination gowns and drapes; help them position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arrange exam room instruments, supplies, and equipment for the Nurse Practitioner.
- Verify patient information by interviewing the patient; review and/or record medical history; take vital signs; confirm the purpose of the visit or treatment.
- Report to the Nurse Practitioner all patient medical history updates and status, as well as the reason for the current visit. Chart information appropriately.
- Call the patient on behalf of the Nurse Practitioner when labs are normal. Consult with the Nurse Practitioner for a script in the case of abnormal lab results.
- Support patient care delivery by helping healthcare providers during examinations; prepare laboratory specimens; perform basic laboratory tests on the premises; dispose of contaminated supplies; sterilize medical instruments; administer medications on the premises; draw blood; prepare patients for X-rays; take electrocardiograms; remove sutures; change dressings.
- Complete records by recording / charting patient examination, treatment, and test results for any CMA appropriate visit.
- Attend flu shot and/or biometric events.
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; place orders and verify receipt.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; perform controls on all laboratory equipment; troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and follow manufacturer instructions for repair if necessary; perform preventive equipment maintenance.
- Keep all QC logs updated. Scan to the shared drive and send a copy to the Practice Manager monthly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Two years' experience working as a medical assistant in a physician office required.
- Certified medical assistant or phlebotomist preferred.
